NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur launched its Mařík Centre of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Cybernetics on March 23 to explore cutting-edge technologies and encourage students to develop an interest in the same. It was a perfect time for the university to set in motion its cutting-edge technological initiative as it held its Convocation 2023 the same day to honour the achievements and reward the deserving individuals who studied and excelled in their respective fields.
While the corporate giants are investing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make sure they do not lag in terms of technological advancements, NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur has taken a step forward in ensuring that the students who pass out from here are well aware of the new technologies and know how to deploy them to get the best output. Artificial Intelligence, as the name suggests, is an artificially developed intelligence that perceives, synthesises, and infers information based on coding and computer programming. The accuracy and precision that AI offers make tech-based companies function robustly, thereby doubling and tripling their productivity.
Robotics, in addition, combines technology and computer programming to develop robots that take up tasks, which might not be possible for humans to carry out so easily. Training students in Robotics will make the brains work towards having mechanised workspaces and households.
Cybernetics, on the contrary, is all about a monitoring setup that keeps a check on a system and records the change in the values from time to time for automatic changes in it based on how it should be functioning and at what time. This technology aims at developing devices and equipment that adjust themselves based on their surroundings.
The centre has been named after Professor Dr Vladimír Mařík, Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Life Fellow, who founded the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics. Though his tech journey started with obtaining his post-graduation and doctoral degrees, his real exposure to technological advancements began only when he founded and became the Head of the Department of Cybernetics at the Czech Institute of Technology (CTU). Professor Dr Mařík also founded the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC) at CTU and served as its director, working towards creating the national centre of competence and excellence.
Professor Dr Vladimír Mařík was one of the special guests at the Convocation Ceremony 2023 of NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur.
