The first edition of ‘Ideathon 2023’, an innovative platform fostering pioneering ideas, concluded its journey on February 1, 2024, with a finale hosted by the Nims Innovation and Research Cell at the Innovation and Incubation Center. This event showcased the final pitches from the top 8 college teams within the university, ultimately leading to the announcement of the winners. These winning teams will have the distinct opportunity to present their ideas to the Founder and Chancellor of the University, the best idea among the eight ideas will have the chance to secure up to Rs.1 lakh as a seed fund, to turn their visionary concepts into reality.

Dr. Mahaveer, Director of Nims Research Cell, is delighted to unveil the Ideathon results, offering congratulations to all participants and winners for their active involvement. He encourages those whose ideas weren’t selected to meticulously analyze and refine them, ensuring their viability for future opportunities. This encouragement aligns with Nims University’s commitment to fostering continuous improvement and a culture of innovation.

The collaboration between students and mentors reflects the holistic approach of the Ideathon, nurturing both creativity and mentorship to bring forward impactful and viable solutions. Addressing the ceremony Prof. (Dr.) Sundeep Mishra, Vice Chancellor of the university, stated, “This Ideathon aims to inspire and cultivate change-makers capable of leading India to global prominence.” The multifaceted innovation platform not only seeks to discover, showcase, and highlight some of India’s brightest young entrepreneurial minds but also strives to instill the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship within colleges. This equips college students to navigate the ever-evolving complexities of our world by focusing on the changing needs of society.

In essence, Nims Ideathon 2023 has not only provided a platform for innovative ideas but has also contributed to the broader goal of nurturing a startup ecosystem for students. The success of this first edition sets a promising precedent for future iterations, reinforcing the university’s role as a catalyst for fostering creativity, resilience, and a transformative mindset among the youth.  Ideathon 2023 has not only ignited the spirit of innovation in colleges but has also set the stage for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
