A step towards Global learning: NIET students embarks on an academic journey to Prague

In a momentous and pioneering endeavor, Nims University Rajasthan proudly commemorates the Flag-Off ceremony of its inaugural cohort of students in collaboration with esteemed international institutions through the Nims International Exchange Program (NIEP). This event signifies the commencement of an exceptional Academic Research Exposure program meticulously designed to bestow upon our students an academic experience of unparalleled distinction.

In this era of growing internationalization, this program provides students with the opportunity to explore a new world of academia, acting as a driving force for intellectual development and the acquisition of knowledge on a global scale.

Under this Student and Faculty Exchange program, students hailing from the NIMS Institute of Technology and Engineering (NIET) are embarking on an enriching journey to the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT) in Prague, Czech Republic, as well as ORLEAN UniCRE, a subsidiary of UniCRE Unipetrol. Here, they shall engage in an immersive exploration of Refinery Technology, Chemical Technology, and Hydrogen Technology. This exceptional opportunity will empower our students to actively participate in advanced research endeavors within their respective domains, all while embracing a new cultural and academic milieu.

The foreign exchange program at CTU and ORLEAN University has been meticulously designed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Foster Global Perspectives: By partaking in research within an international context, our students shall acquire a more expansive outlook on their fields of study, thus cultivating a profound comprehension of global issues.
  • Enhance Academic Growth: This program offers students the privilege of collaborating with distinguished researchers and scholars, thereby augmenting their academic acumen and knowledge.
  • Cultural Enrichment: The experience of residing in a foreign country shall expose our students to diverse cultures, languages, and modes of thought, thus rendering them culturally astute and adaptable.

These collaborations grant our students access to state-of-the-art research facilities and the mentorship of world-class academics.

In a special address, the Chairman and Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar, said, “This program has been conceived to equip our students with the capabilities to become world-class leaders in their respective fields.” He further underlined the alignment of this initiative with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which envisions transformative changes in the education system, holistic development, multidisciplinary learning, and the cultivation of critical thinking skills.

Addressing the students, Prof. Tomar said, “Dear students, you are now poised to represent our nation at the global stage. I urge you to explore the cities, embrace their cultures, respect their values, savor their cuisines, and always carry the unity of our beloved Bharat in your hearts.” always spread cherishment in everyone’s heart.

Dr. Tomar urged the students to focus on entrepreneurship and said it’s time to get to work! He wanted them to understand the concept of changing work creators and how to organize things, deadlines, and goals at one time. He said that with this program, you will  be ready to take on the world. He also encouraged the students  to think about starting their own business, whether it’s a small one or a big one.

He emphasized the importance of employability skills and the decision-making process, highlighting their pivotal role in enabling students to thrive on both national and global platforms.

Throughout the duration of the program, spanning eight weeks, students will gain comprehensive exposure at the largest Hydrochemical operated center in the world. This multifaceted experience will encompass two weeks of regular classes, two weeks of laboratory training, two weeks of industrial training, and a concluding two weeks dedicated to project work and presentations. In addition to this enriching experience, participating students will be granted access to the Schengen Visa, often regarded as one of the world’s most challenging visas to obtain, enabling them to traverse the entirety of Europe.

Another contingent of students, specializing in the medical field and Artificial Intelligence, will embark on a parallel educational journey in the month of November. They will have the privilege of undertaking their studies at prestigious institutions including Motol University Hospital, Charles University, Prague, and the Czech Institute of Informatics and Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC), Prague.

Czech Technical University, Prague, which ranks 454th in the QS World Rankings, adds an extra layer of prestige to the program. The Technical University of the Czech Republic (CTU), located in Prague, is renowned for its rich history spanning over 310 years and its sterling reputation in the realms of higher education and scientific research.

ORLEN UNICRE, a prominent research and training center, emerges as a formidable institution within the Czech Republic. It boasts extensive expertise in a multitude of fields including New Chemical Technologies, New Refineries Technologies, Catalysts, and Renewable Raw Materials Utilization. Furthermore, it actively participates in Technology Transfer initiatives. As a subsidiary of UNipetrol, UNICRE also strives to support the scientific research conducted within production plants, bridging the gap between academia and industry.

This initiative spearheaded by Nims University Rajasthan, in concert with international collaborators, promises to be a transformative force in the realm of higher education. It exemplifies a resolute commitment to offering students an academic experience that is both globally enriching and academically profound. This endeavor not only equips students with a diverse skill set but also positions them as ambassadors of academic excellence and cultural diplomacy on the global stage.
