The NIMS University providing world-class education has made a lasting impression in India and internationally. We all know that a healthy body and pleasing smile depend on dental health. As the NIMS University runs various dental education programs under its NIMS Dental College & Hospital, we conduct the upskilling program to improve our students. Recently NIMS Dental college organized a three-day event focusing on the specialization of orthodontics. The first International Invisible Orthodontics Symposium was organized by the NIMS Dental College & Hospital between the 4th to 6th of August in association with the Indian Orthodontics Society.
During this program, more than 200 delegates and 35 experts from India and abroad participated. In this program, participants learned about the latest dental treatment techniques related to orthodontics and their skills from experts in the field. In addition, representatives from various orthodontic companies such as Oblu Healthcare, JJ Orthodontics, The Alinger, Berininov, and Kiyoclear also attended the program.
On this occasion, NIMS Chairman, Prof.(Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar met with the distinguished dignitaries who attended the symposium. He also discussed many health aspects. During the formal talk with experts, Dr. Tomar said, in the field of health, including dentistry, many skills and technologies have been developed which can be used to provide much better healthcare. The students must be aware of them. Therefore, the university organizes enlightening programs regularly to expose students to the latest technology and enhance their knowledge.
The event was preceded by an interaction session attended by the President of the Dental Council of India (DCI), Dr. Dibyendu Mazumdar, as chief guest, along with members of the Cultural Executive Council of DCI, Dr. Vivek Kumar and Dr. Vikas Dhupar. In addition, the President of the Indian Orthodontics Society, Dr. SrikrishnaChalasani, Secretary Dr. Sridevi Padmanabhan, President-Elect Dr. Balwinder Singh Thakkar, and Vice Chancellor of NIMS University, Dr. Sandeep Mishra, also participated in the event.
Dr. Mazumdar shared his experience and knowledge with our students and faculty members and said orthodontics has allowed everyone to smile freely. This specialty has made dental care easier with new technologies. Dr. Mazumdar stressed the importance of internships and training for dental students. They also explained that orthodontics is a dental specialty that focuses on preventing, diagnosing, managing, and correcting poorly positioned jaws, teeth, and bite patterns. Famous TV actors Surendra Pal and singer Mann Singh- Gora Singh also participated in the cultural program of the 1st International Invisible Orthodontics Symposium. A scintillating performance by Mann Singh and Gora Singh captivated the symposium’s delegates, dignitaries, students, and staff.
