As part of its commitment to serving underprivileged communities, Nims Paramedical College, through its Para Sewa Club, organized a Raashan Distribution Drive on 29th December 2023. Held in the village of Mazipura, the event focused on providing essential food supplies while raising awareness about proper nutrition and the importance of minimizing food waste.
Objective of the Activity
This initiative aimed to address immediate food needs while empowering communities with knowledge about health and nutrition. The key objectives included:
- Distributing daily essentials like grains and other food items to families in need.
- Educating participants on healthy eating habits and the significance of proper nutrition.
- Encouraging the community to reduce food waste through mindful consumption.

- Food Distribution:
- A team of 18 paramedical students and 4 faculty members collaborated with the village sarpanch to identify families most in need.
- Food packets containing wheat flour, rice, lentils, cooking oil, and sugar were distributed, ensuring families had access to basic food supplies for their daily needs.
- Nutritional Education:
- Faculty members conducted sessions on the importance of a balanced diet, emphasizing nutrition for women and children.
- Tips on incorporating seasonal fruits and vegetables into meals were shared to enhance the nutritional value of daily diets.
- Awareness on Food Waste Reduction:
- Participants were encouraged to adopt practices like proper food storage and portion control to reduce waste.
