NIMS University Collaborates with AUAP for the 4th Faculty Development Program in Thailand to Highlight New Age Education

The 4th AUAP Faculty Development Program (FDP) is scheduled to take place from 22nd to 25th September 2024 in Bangkok and Pattaya, Thailand. This august event will be hosted by the Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) in collaboration with the Masters’ Institute Development Academy and Seminary (MIDAS), Thailand, and NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur. The 4th FDP will be themed “Internationalization in Higher Education” with a special focus on the topic “New Age Education for Employability and Entrepreneurship.”

The program will be initiated with welcome remarks and an address from Dr. Rolando Garcia, President, MIDAS, who will deliver the tone of a warm start for an inspiring and educational event. The welcome will be extended further by the opening ceremony message that will be presented by Prof. Dr. Anoop Swarup, Secretary General, AUAP. The five-day ceremony will be divided into Special Talk sessions with the key highlights of Special Talk 1 that will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Anoop Swarup, and promises to offer a deep understanding of the current trends and challenges in higher education. Special Talks 2 & 3 will be presented by Mr. Kok Yin Lau, Managing Director, Krempl Communications International (KCI), Singapore & USA, and will be sharing his wide-ranging expertise in global communications.

The aim of the FDP majorly concentrates to inspire and empower the participants to become effective managers and influential agents in respect to the Internationalization of their higher education institutions.

It will shed light on the dominant objectives to make this program a success and accentuate greatly to achieve and expand on the aims such, including but not limited to, Faculty capacity building, Global collaborative networks and partnerships, Digital transformation in higher education, Best practices in internationalization, Enhancing cross-cultural competence, and Research and innovation in a global context.

The Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts and learn from distinguished professionals and leaders who will share their expertise on internationalizing higher education.

The partakers will get an opening to discover the latest trends and inspect radical topics such as virtual campuses, global university networks, belt and road initiatives, and the latest in global higher education internationalization. Discussions will also take place to cover critical areas like institutional self-evaluation tools, rankings, accreditation, university employability, entrepreneurship, the roles of alumni, administration, and students in the promotion of international mobility and environmental sustainability.

The event will act as a platform that fundamentally proposes the professionals to network and build relationships that could lead to future collaborations and add to the overall enhancement of their professional development.

The five-day program will witness its share of events in both Bangkok and Pattaya and will also be subjected to sightseeing and leisure time around the vibrant cities. The closing ceremony of the program will once again conclude with comments from Prof. Dr. Anoop Swarup and will be followed by a certification ceremony and group pictures to commemorate the event.

The AUAP Secretariat, MIDAS and NIMS University look forward to warmly hosting faculty members and officers from other Asia-Pacific universities to participate in this one-of-its-kind event. The 4th AUAP Faculty Development Program promises to establish and uphold higher standards in professional development, thereby equipping the participants with the skills and perspectives needed to thrive in the ever-blooming structure of global education.
