Awareness Rally organized on World Tuberculosis Day
Students of Nims Nursing College organized an awareness rally to mark World Tuberculosis Day today. The rally was to spread awareness among the public and all students of Nims University about tuberculosis and the treatment available at Nims Hospital. They instructed the patients not to cough and spit openly as the disease might spread. The rally was flagged off by Dr. B.R. Meena Pro. VC, at Nims Nursing College. The rally passed through all colleges in the University before culminating at the Labana Village. Nims Nursing Students raised slogans urging people to approach the Nims Hospital immediately, if they had symptoms of tuberculosis. TB has killed more people in history than the black death but Tuberculosis is curable and preventable People should be aware of this and start for treatment on time said Dr. Prem Singh, Registrar Nims University. He said that there must be preventive measures to be safe from TB. Though TB is caused by the contagious spread of bacteria that most affect the lungs and immune system, it can also spread to other organs of body. Usually, the Tuberculosis bacteria affects the lungs, and if left unwary, it can also spread throughout the body and cause secondary infections affecting the kidneys, eyes, abdomen, brain and uterus.
