History

Nims Medical College and Hospital was established in the year 2004 as per MCI norms. The recognition was given for MBBS degree by MCI in the year 2009. It is a constituent College of Nims University.

The phenomenal growth in the journey of NIMS Medical College and Hospital attained another milestone by starting post graduate courses in all the specialties in the year 2011.

Nims Hospital, being legendary as a multispecialty tertiary level ultra modern hospital, is recognized for investigating and treating Rajasthan Government employees, pensioners. State insurance employees and co-operative dairy employees.

The Nims Medical College and hospital meets recognized standard of excellence in education and has modern facilities to explore, practice, and achieve the highest standards in professional skills. The highly qualified teaching faculty at the Medical College and Hospital is as per the requirements of Medical Council of India. The students are groomed to be excellent professionals with moral and ethical values.

The institute in pursuit of its vision provides outstanding educational experience in all the disciplines of Medicine and allied Health Sciences in a supportive environment of scholarship, research, integrity, critical thinking and self directed learning. It provides comprehensive, culturally sensitive, community oriented health care to individuals and families. The hard work and dedication put in by the management and the devotion of staff and faculty members combined with passion and zeal of the students have allowed the institute to scale new heights.

As per directives from MCI regulation 1997 Medical Education Unit (MEU) has been created in Nims Medical College.

For faculty development, MEU is conducting workshops for basic training in education technologies. Nims Medical college, Jaipur took the lead in Rajasthan to train its faculty in this basic course workshop by successfully organizing first workshop from 3rd to 5th November 2011. Thirty teaching faculty members were trained. The second workshop was conducted from 11th to 13th June 2012 and twenty six faculty members were trained. Evaluation report of these workshops was sent to MCI academic cell by MCI observer Dr. Himashu Pandya, Professor, Department of Medicine, Pramukuswami Medical College Karamsad (Regional training centre).

The MEU has developed standard modular training manual for this basic course. This manual has been prepared with a view to familiarize the participants with the basics of Educational Technologies so that they can use it as a guide for teaching learning process for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

Third Basic course workshop on medical education technologies was successfully organized from 16-18 Jan 2013. Twenty two faculty members of all levels were trained. This is a regular bi-annually faculty development programme of Nims University.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF UNDER-GRADUATE TRAINING EXPECTED FROM STUDENTS AT THE END OF UNDER-GRADUATE TRAINING

  1. The undergraduate medical education programme is designed with a goal to create an “Indian edical Graduate” (IMG) possessing requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and responsiveness, so that he or she may function appropriately and effectively as a physician of First contact of the community while being globally relevant.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF POST-GRADUATE TRAINING EXPECTED FROM STUDENTS AT THE END OF POST-GRADUATE TRAINING

  • Recognize the importance to the concerned speciality in the context of the health needs of the community and the national priorities in the health Section.
  • Practice the speciality concerned ethically and in step with the principles of primary health care.
  • Demonstrate sufficient understanding of the basic sciences relevant to the concerned speciality.
  • Identify social, economic, environmental, biological and emotional determinants of health in a given case, and take them into account while planning therapeutic, rehabilitative, preventive and primitive measure/strategies.
  • Diagnose and manage majority of the conditions in the speciality concerned on the basis of clinical assessment, and appropriately selected and conducted investigations.
  • Plan and advise measures for the prevention and rehabilitation of patients suffering from disease and disability related to the speciality.

Department of Anatomy

The anatomy department plans to implement teaching programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The department is using modern teaching & learning resources and contemporary research techniques with recent scientific advances. It fulfills the required infrastructure and qualified teaching faculty as per MCI norms. The students are trained in all disciplines and subdivisions of anatomy i.e. gross and applied anatomy, neuroanatomy, embryology, histology and genetics. The innovative teaching and research strategies adopted by the department are directed to develop self learning habits in students via discussions, seminars, Journal Club and small group activities.

The museum of the department attracts attention of the visitors as it displays original labeled photographs of the specimens and bones. It is equipped with microscope and histology slides of the specimens for self study. The comparative labeled photographs of CT, MRI and cross-sectional anatomy of the whole body is displayed. A log book is being maintained by the PG students day to day and the same is counter signed by the faculty members.

Department of Biochemistry

The main aim of the department of biochemistry is to enable undergraduate and postgraduate students to understand, envisage and explain life processes as molecular events and apply his knowledge and skills in clinical problem solving and scientific research.

The objectives of the department are a candidate upon successfully qualifying in the MD Biochemistry examinations should be able to

  • Be a competent biochemist
  • Work as a teacher in medical faculty both at undergraduate and postgraduate level
  • Supervise modern laboratory techniques and procedures in clinical biochemistry lab in the hospital at par with NABL level.
  • Carry out and conduct various research problems both at basic and applied level
  • Suggest, evaluate and interpret biochemical investigations in a given clinical situation and apply knowledge in clinical problems.
  • The department provides round the clock diagnostic facilities in the hospital. To develop skill of performing biochemical techniques like Electrophoresis, Colorim-etry, Spectrophotometry, Flame photometry, ELISA and Molecular Biology techniques

Active learning forms the mainstay of post Graduate training along with seminars, Symposia group discussions, journal clubs and ward round of various clinical departments to learn the cases of interest

Department of Physiology

The infrastructure and faculty of the department of physiology is as per MCI norms. The department effectively teach under graduates medical students the basic physiological mechanism of human body, with reference to their implications in the pathogenesis (Patho physiology) and their management.

Goal:

The goal and objectives of MD course in physiology is to produce a competent physiologist who:

  • Is able to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of physiology as well as that of applied disciplines;
  • Is able to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the current developments in medical sciences as related to physiology;
  • Has acquired skills in effective teaching and communicating with medical and paramedical students;
  • Demonstrate competence in basic concepts of research methodology, effectively use the statistical methods and write a scientific paper on the lines accepted by standard scientific journals;
  • Develop skills as a self directed learner, recognize continuing educational needs; use appropriate learning resources and critically analyze relevant published literature;

In Addition to different laboratories for under graduates a well equipped central research laboratories, clinical neurophysiology and cardio respiratory laboratories for post graduates have been established in the medical college      

Department of Pathology

The goals of Pathology Department is to produce a specialist who is competent to provide laboratory based diagnosis of illness, is able to teach undergraduates and postgraduates. The department is capable of offering a high quality diagnostic opinion in a given clinical situation with an appropriate and relevant samples of tissue, blood, body fluid for the purpose of diagnosis and overall wellbeing of the ill.

The postgraduates are being provided sufficient training, competence and confidence in practice and diagnosis related to histopathology (surgical pathology), Cytopathology, specimens blood and bone narrow examination, various test of laboratory medicine( Clinical Pathology, Clinical biochemistry ) as well as blood banking (Transfusion medicine ) Clinical and laboratory findings are correlated with pathology finding at autopsy, indentify cause of death due to diseases.

The Postgraduates are trained to function as a past of team develop an attitude of co-operation with colleagues and interact with in patient and the clinician or other colleagues to provide the best possible diagnosis or opinion

Pathology forms the basis of understanding, diagnosis and hence the treatment of diseases. It is, therefore, an essential subject in the training and curriculum of various undergraduate and postgraduate courses of medicine and allied disciplines such as nursing, etc. The department has emphasized the development of newer specialized areas such as molecular biology and laboratory medicine

Department of Microbiology

The main aim of department of microbiology is to train students of medicine in the field medical microbiology.  The training is imparted to the candidates in the subspecialties viz bacteriology, virology, mycology, immunology, serology and parasitology, so that they can participate in good patient care and prevention of infectious diseases in the community.  Latest clinical microbiological services have been established in the hospital round the clock in central diagnostic division including molecular biology lab.

Service Laboratories:

There are separate service laboratories bacteriology including anaerobic, serology, virology ,parasitology, mycology , tuberculosis’ and immunology  as per MCI norms controlled by head of the department of microbiology and immunology.

Goal: The Goal of the postgraduate Medical education is to produce competent specialist and medical teacher:
  • Who shall recognize the health needs of the community and carry out professional obligations ethically in keeping with the objectives of the national health policy;
  • Who shall master most of the competencies, pertaining to Microbiology that are required to be practiced at the secondary and the tertiary levels of the health care delivery system;
  • Who shall be aware of the contemporary advances and developments in Microbiology
  • Who shall have acquired the spirit of scientific inquiry and is oriented to the principles of research methodology and epidemiology
  • Who shall have acquired the basic skills of teaching of the medical and paramedical professionals     

Training in research methodology is being impacted by planning of a research projects by the student under the guidance of a recognized guide to be executed and submitted in the form of dissertation. The department encourages interaction with the allied departments by rendering services in advanced laboratory investigation and relevant expert opinion. Students are encouraged to participate in various workshops / seminars/ journal clubs/ demonstrations in allied departments to acquire various skills for collaborative research. Specific objective of the department is to uphold prestige of the discipline amongst the fraternity of doctors.

Department of Pharmacology

The composition of the department in terus of faculty strength, infrastructure and laborites/equipment is as per MCI regulations.The Department of Pharmacology caters to the need of both undergraduate & postgraduate students. It is equipped with the latest technological instruments and research facilities. The department is highly research oriented and there are various ongoing research projects in hand. The department is fully equipped with ultra modern equipments and has excellent state of art e-labs( computer assisted learning and alternative to animal experimentation ), clinical pharmacology, pharmacy and experimental; labs and a fully equipped library and museum housing several charts, models and specimen of drugs with proper catalogues. A team of academically qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty has contributed immensely in the process of the department and is actively involved in various research projects.

The department provides modules to help students understand the use of drugs in clinical practice. All students are trained in essential medicine concept to promote safe and effective use of drugs (rational drug use) including drug formulations, drug combinations, drug interaction, adverse drug reaction & its management and toxicology.

The department runs a pharmaco-Vigilance programme for monitoring adverse drug effects and regular auditing of the prescriptions given to the patients. It has an animal house and central lab for research. The students are trained by giving didactic lectures, practicals, tutorials and seminars. The department is conducting research on several projects including drug utilization studies and antimicrobial use. Emphasis is on integrated teaching and clinical aspects of pharmacology.

An innovative curriculum has been developed to impart training to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in problem base teaching learning exercise in pharmacology and rational drug prescribing to interns as part of orientation programme.

Department of Forensic Medicine

The Department of Forensic Medicine is engaged in multifarious activities and it is involved in teaching, research, training, medico legal post-mortems, casualty work, toxicology and clinical forensic medicine services. PG programme of the department successfully qualifies the following objectives:

  • Identify and define existing as well as future Medico-legal problems as they emerge in the community and work to resolve such problems by planning, implementing, evaluating and modulating Medico-legal services.
  • Undertake medico-legal responsibilities and discharge Medico-legal duties, which arise in day-to-day general practice as well as in hospital practices.
  • Keep himself/herself abreast with all recent developments and emerging trends in Forensic Medicine, Medical Ethics and the Law.
  • Deal with general principles and practical problems related to forensic, clinical, emergency, environmental, medico-legal and occupational aspects of toxicology.
  • Perform medico-legal autopsy independently with required physical assistance, prepare report and derive inferences.
  • Interpret histo-pathological, microbiological, radiological, chemical analysis, DNA profile and other investigative reports for medico-legal purposes.
  • Depose as an expert witness in a Court of Law on medico-legal matters.

Department of Community Medicine

The preamble of the Department of Community Medicine is to prepare Community Medicine Physicians of highest caliber. They will have basic understanding of clinical practice, a thorough knowledge of epidemiological principles and methods and the epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases, a familiarity with statistical methods, the relevant aspects of the social sciences and the principles of administration and management and ability to apply this knowledge to the management of health services and study of diseases. Goal of teaching and training of postgraduate in Community Medicine is directed towards achievement of “Health for All”.

To acquire skills to deal effectively with an individual and the community the undergraduates and postgraduates are posted at different health centres. This is to be achieved by hands on experience in the rural health centres, the urban health centres,  primary health centres including district hospital and community health centre.A log book is being maintained by the PG students day to day and the same is counter signed by the faculty members.

Training is given to participate in comprehensive health care of family.

  • To acquire competence in diagnosis and management of common ailments e.g. tuberculosis, enteric fever, congestive heart failure, hepatitis, meningitis and acute renal failure.
  • Acquire proficiency for family welfare programmes.
  • Gain information on essential drugs and their rational use.
  • To recognize medical emergencies.
  • To learn the management and implementation of National Health Programmes.

Department of Medicine

The goal of the department of medicine is to produce competent physician, who recognizes the health needs of adults and carry out professional obligation in keeping with principles of the National Health Policy and professional ethics.

The aim of the department is to develop skilled and self directed medical personnel, recognize continuing educational needs and use appropriate learning resources in order to practice evidence based medicines.

The department identifies social, economical, environmental, biological and emotional aspects of medicine to know the therapeutic, preventive and promotional measures to provide holistic care to the patients.

Case details, morbidity and mortality data are well documented and medical emergencies are efficiently managed by the department.

To develop Communication skills of high order in explaining management and prognosis providing counseling and giving health education message to the patient, families and communities are used by faculty members and residents.

Generic medicines are prescribed by the physicians as per hospital policy.

The department runs specialty clinics in Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, hematology, endocrinology, allergy, asthama and geriatric specialities.

The department also runs daily Antirabies clinic.

Acquisition of practical competencies is the keystone of post graduate medical education, besides this bed side teaching, seminars, journal club and case discussion are carried out for undergraduate and post graduate and assessed by faculty member.

Department of medicine also organises rural camps on regular basis.

Department of Psychiatry

Since its establishment in the year 2004 at NIMS the dept is providing specialized care to the rural & urban population of jaipur & surrounding areas.

Department is also actively engaged in UG & PG teaching & pursuing research and publication activities.

Objectives of the Department

  1. The primary aim of & objective of the department is to develop highly trained man power, curriculum & clinical techniques for under graduate & post Graduate education.
  2. To recognize to key importance of mental health in context of the health priority of the country
  3. To identify social, economic, environmental, biological and emotional determinants of mental health and institute diagnostics, therapeutics, rehabilitative, preventive and primitive majors to provide holistic  care of the patients.
  4. Plan and deliver comprehensive treatment for illness in Psychiatric patients using rational drug therapy.
  5. Acquisition of practical competency is the key stone of PG medical education. Various teaching programs are conducted in the department like seminars, clinical case discussions, PG Bedside teaching, psychosomatic rounds and consultations liaison psychiatry, journal clubs, interdepartmental meetings, guest lecturers, Clinical psychology seminars, psycho pharmacology meetings etc.

Department of Respiratory Medicine (Tuberculosis & Chest Diseases)

The Department is providing specialized care to the rural as well as urban population of Jaipur and surrounding areas to control and prevent Tuberculosis in the community. There is also heavy burden of non-tuberculous respiratory diseases including respiratory emergencies and aids.

Besides, Bedside care of Tuberculosis &non-tuberculous respiratory diseases, the department is also providing critical care facilities.

The department is also actively engaged in UG and PG teaching and pursuing research and publication activities in respiratory specialty.

Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (Skin & VD)

Department is providing specialized care to the population of Jaipur and surrounding areas. Department is actively engaged in undergraduate and post graduate teaching and pursuing research and publication activities. The department is providing the latest facilities in the field of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy and Cosmetic Dermatology.

Facilities

  • Department has fully equipped outpatient premises which offers treatment services in the field of Dermatology, STD and Leprosy. Separate outpatient clinics function daily for Skin, STD and Leprosy patients it caters to an average 200-220 patients per day.
  • Minor OT services are also available daily, which include electric & chemical cautery, radio frequency, microderma-abrasion, intra-lesional injections and skin biopsy etc.
  • The department has in-patient care facilities. Two wards (separate for males, females and children) with a total strength of 60 beds exist (36 for male and 24 for female).
  • It also runs a minor operation theatre/Therapy procedures daily where in different minor and major dermatological surgeries (including Blister grafting, mini punch grafting for vitiligo, excision of growths, nail surgeries, cryosurgery along with chemical cauteries and peeling etc.) are being carried out.
  • The side laboratory is equipped with performing all the staining procedures including facilities for examining smears for bacteria, fungi, mycobacteria and acantholytic cells, Light microscope with facility for dark ground illumination microscopy, Gram’s staining, Zeihl – Neelsen’s staining , Giemsa staining.
  • Blister grafting, mini punch grafting for vitiligo, excision of growths, nail surgeries, cryosurgery etc Minor OT facilities for procedures like biopsies, cautery and other skin surgeries (Vitiligo surgery and Chemical peeling).

Department of Pediatrics

To improve the health of children through world-class excellence in education, patient care, research, innovation and policy assistance.

Goals

  • To provide routine & emergency general pediatric care services to adjoining urban and rural areas including districts of Eastern Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi,  Madhya Pradesh and UP.
  • To produce post-graduate students of high caliber and quality in the field of Pediatrics.
  • To provide excellence in advanced Level III neonatal intensive care, with support from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • To foster a healthy academic environment among faculty members.

Routine OPD services

Catering services to children in the age group of 0-18 years on a daily basis. It is efficiently managed by senior faculty members and residents.

Manned by a team of faculty members, senior and junior residents, with a strong back-up support by a team of zealous and hardworking faculty members.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

A state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit equipped with the latest and adequate life-saving devices for providing mechanical ventilation, clinical monitoring high-level medical care managed by highly skilled technical and nursing staff.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Intensive neonatal care unit has both Aseptic NICU & Septic NICU. It is equipped with the latest gadgetry for mechanical ventilation, exchange transfusion and photo therapy.

Pediatric Wards

All standard therapeutic and diagnostic procedures are being carried out, so as to provide comprehensive medical care to admitted pediatric patients.

Post-graduate training (MD) course in Pediatrics

The goal of the PG training (MD) course is to produce a competent pediatrician who recognizes the health needs of neonates, infants, children and adolescents and carries out professional and research obligations in keeping with the principles of National Health Policy. The PG training programme is skill-oriented and complemented by regular formal teaching sessions in form of clinical case presentations, Journal Club, Intra/Inter departmental Seminars, bed-side case discussion, mortality meet, monthly perinatal audit, mock exams which are coordinated, moderated and assessed by highly accomplished and experienced faculty members. A log book is being maintained by the PG students, mentioning the aforesaid activities and the same is counter signed by the faculty members. All post-graduate students are rotated through all clinical units e.g. Pediatric Wards, PICU, NICU, routine/emergency OPD so as to acquaint them with varied clinical presentations and management of common/rare neonatal/pediatric diseases. The academic environment in the department fosters research activities. This is evident by active participation of the faculty members and residents in various state and national neonatal/ pediatric conferences.

Social Initiatives

The Department holds regular outreach medical camps with support of local bodies in adjoining rural areas so as to expand its services to otherwise inaccessible population.

Department of Anaesthesiology

The main aim of department is to train candidates in the practice of anesthesia for various surgical specialty, super specialty and in applied medical sciences and research methodology with emphasis on the specialized techniques used in anesthesia and critical care medicine. Major stress is laid on practical training in operation theatre, intensive care unit, tetanus care unit, pain clinic and emergency and with active participation of the undergraduates and postgraduates in the management of patient.

Department of Anaesthesia is running full-fledged O.T. complex for following departments:

Department of Radio diagnosis & Imaging

The Department is state of art & It is well equipped & has all the modern & advance equipments including routine & digital x ray, MDCT, MRI, Special Radiological Procedures, DSA, Mammography, USG & Doppler Studies & Interventional Radiology.

The department has adequate faculty as per the norms of the MCI.

The department is providing round the clock services for routine as well as emergency Patients. All the Emergency & trauma patients are attended timely & investigated as required. Faculty, PG students and Technical staff are available round the clock.

Clinical teaching, seminars, journal club, interdepartmental meeting and case discussion are held regularly. A log book is being maintained by the PG students day to day and the same is counter signed by the faculty members.

All radiation safety measures for occupational worker and patients are followed as per AERB norms.

The department is approved by AERB and MCI.

Department of General Surgery

The goal of the department is to produce competent and confident surgeon to do all surgical procedures with excellent results.

Since its establishments the department is providing specialised surgical care to the urban and rural population of Jaipur and surrounding area.

The department provides specialised services as gastrointestinal endoscopy like gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP.

Modern laparoscopic surgeries are provided as a routine like lapacholecystectomy , laphernioplasty, diagnostic laparoscopy , and lap resection and anastomosis of intestine etc.

The department is equipped with modern energy sources like en-seal and harmonica.

Department is running endourology clinic on daily basis and providing facilities for all modern urological procedure as PCNL, URS, TURP and Urodynamics studies.

Department of surgery has various specialists and super specialists in the field of paediatric surgery, neuro surgery, uro surgery, plastic surgery and onco surgery.

All routine and emergency major and minor operations, laparoscopic surgeries, therapeutic endo surgery such as sclero therapy, FB removal are done in the department.

Weekly special clinics are being run by the department as breast clinic, prostate clinic, onco clinic, colorectal clinic, hernia clinic and thyroid clinic. A log book is being maintained by the PG students day to day and the same is counter signed by the faculty members.

Department of Orthopaedics

The Department is providing specialized care to the rural and urban population of Jaipur and its surrounding areas including neighboring states like Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, MP and UP.

The Department is actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and pursuing research and publication activities.

Goals and objectives of the department are:

  • To provide round the clock quality health care in the diagnosis and management of orthopaedic emergencies, trauma and road traffic accidents related injuries.
  • To provide effective management in  orthopaedic conditions such as deformities correction in poliomyelitis, cerebral palsy, CTEV.
  • To provide comprehensive care in conditions such as bone tumours, osteomyelitis etc.
  • To provide tertiary level care in spine injuries and other degenerative spinal conditions.
  • To conduct advance operative procedures including arthroscopy of various joints, total joint replacement of knee, hip, elbow and shoulder and Ilizarov procedures.

The department is well equipped with modular operation theatre and well equipped plaster room.

Acquisition of practical competencies being the keystone of postgraduate medical education, the department promotes skill oriented postgraduate training.

Department of ENT

The Department is providing specialized care to rural population of Jaipur and surrounding area. Department is also actively engaged in undergraduate and post graduate teaching and pursuing research and publication activities.

Goal of the department is to recognize the health needs of ENT patients and carries out professional obligation in keeping with principal of national health policies and professional ethics.

Department has fully equipped outpatient which offers treatment services in field of ENT. The outpatient clinics function daily for ENT patients, minor OT service is also available daily which include diagnostic procedures like sinus endoscopy, FOL, EUM. Facilities of audiometery, tympanometery, computerized ENG and BERA are also available. The OPD also has Temporal Bone Lab for teaching purpose.

The Department has in-patient care facilities and separate male and female wards.

The objective of the department is to develop skills as self directed learner, recognize, continuing educational needs, use appropriate recourses and critically analyze published literature in order to practice evidence based Otorhinolaryngology. Acquisition of practical competencies being the keystone of post graduate medical education, besides this bed side teaching, seminars, journal club and case discussion are carried out for undergraduate and post graduate and assessed by faculty member. Department of Ophthalmology

Since its establishment in the year 2004 at NIMS, the department is providing specialized care to rural population of jaipur, sikar, Haryana & surrounding areas. Department is also actively engaged in UG & PG teaching and persuing research & publication activities.

The objective of the department is to offer to the community the current quality of standard of care in ophthalmimic diagnosis as well as therapeutic medical and surgical in most of the common and easily managed situations at the level of health services

Eye OPD is fully equipped with ophthalmic examination chairs, slit lamp microscopes, A-scan, B-scan, Applanation Tonometer, Synaptophore, Hess screen, Goldmann’s automated perimeter, Zeiss Corneal Topographer, Indirect Ophthalmoscope, Topcon Autorefractometer with keratometer, Nidek YAG laser, Slit lamp with camera & slit lamp with fundus camera & with one MOT & EYE OT equipped with operating microscope. In eye OPD there are two dark rooms useful for patients refraction & learning of UG, PG, BOOT, MOOT & Diploma Optometry students.

  • To provide quality maternal care in the diagnosis and management of Antenatal, Intranatal and Postnatal period of normal, abnormal and high risk pregnancy.
  • To provide effective and adequate care to the obstetrical and early neonatal emergencies.
  • To implement maternal components of National Health Programmes, namely, Reproductive and Child Health, Family Welfare (Family planning procedures), Reproductive tract infections (STD & AIDS prevention diagnosis and treatment)
  • To provide counseling and delivery of fertility regulation methods and perform medical termination of pregnancy.
  • To conduct operative procedures including endoscopy (diagnostic & therapeutic) and its related complications and their application in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Teaching Facilities

Dissection Hall:The gross structure of the human body is taught through lectures, cadaver dissections, study of bones, specimens, tutorials, quizzes, radiography, charts and models. We maintain a small student-teacher ration of 12:1 and ensure that all students receive personal attention and guidance. The fostering and nurturing of medical students during their first year in college has been an important aspect of our work.

Histology Lab: Histology or microscopic anatomy is taught by lectures and practicals. The Histology Laboratory is well equipped with individual microscopes and a set of slide for each student. Coloured, labeled photomicrographs are provided to aid the students in interpreting the more difficult slides. Here also we maintain the small student-teacher ration.
