Principal & DeanThe inception of NIMS Dental College in the year 2006 was a significant milestone in the history of our University. This college is today considered to be one of the best Dental colleges in the state.
Over the years, we have grown steadily and appreciably under the guidance of accomplished Professionals, Doctors and Faculties. It was once rightly said “We come unbidden into this life, and if we are lucky we find a purpose beyond starvation, misery, and early death which, lest we forget, is the common lot”, I grew up and I found my purpose, the purpose to serve the people requiring medical help.
Education at NIMS is not restricted to academics or professional goals alone. The education imparted here emphasizes value based learning and social responsibilities. The great team at Nims Dental College has always aimed at not only producing good Dentists but also great Human Beings who pass out with a zeal to make the difference.

The NIMS Dental College and Hospital was established in the year 2006 as per DCI norms with the first batch of students numbering 100. The recognition was given for BDS course by DCI in the year 2010. The college was affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences till 2009 and now it is a constituent college of Nims University.
Over the last five years Nims Dental College has attained a name for itself purely because of its impressive infrastructure, modern and fully equipped clinics and labs, a well equipped library and a team of dedicated faculty. Nims Dental College has added a new feather to its cap by starting post graduate courses in the year 2011.
About Us
The hard work and dedication put-in by the management and the devotion and enthusiasm of the staff and faculty members combined with the passion and zeal of the students has allowed the Institute to scale new heights. The continuous perseverance of all faculty members has contributed towards the overall development and progress of the college. All the departments are well furnished, decorated and fully equipped with the latest and sophisticated equipments. The College has all the latest gadgets i.e. Digital Radiography, Orthopantomography, X-Rays, Dental Laser, Dental Operating Microscopes, Computerized RVG and the latest Dental Laboratories with all the necessary attachments. The College has a teaching hospital with all specialties of Dental Surgery which provide routine and specialized diagnostic procedures and treatment like Maxillofacial and Orthognathic Surgery, advanced Conservative and endodontic treatment, aesthetic dentistry, ceramic crowns and bridges, cast partial dentures, Complete dentures, Dental Implants and Maxillofacial prostheses. The aim of this Dental College is to strive hard towards perfection. The students of this Institute are benefited with technologically modern dental education as well as simultaneous exposure to the rural population through community based service. Extensive pre-clinical & clinical training is imparted to the students at NIMS Dental College. The BDS Course is recognized by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi.

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics

Professor & Head and Director PG Studies- Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with the growth of the face, development of occlusion and prevention and correction of occlusal anomalies.
- Equipped with the latest OPG & Cephalogram machine, Nemoceph software, Hydro solder machine, Pressure molding machine, Electro polisher, Vacuum mixing machine and Micro implant Kit.
- Offering the latest treatment modalities in removable appliances, functional appliances and orthopedic appliances.
- Different techniques in fixed orthodontic treatment like Beggs technique, standard technique, edgewise technique, straight wire technique, lingual appliances, invisible orthodontics and Tip- edge technique

Professor & Head- The Department of Prosthodontics caters to the restoration and rehabilitation of dentulous and edentulous patients of all age groups.
- Department is having all the major equipments like BEGO Induction Casting Machine, VITA Ceramic Furnace, NSK Physiodispensers, different systems of Implants and a well equipped, modern and sophisticated UG and PG lab.
- The students are well exposed to different treatment procedures in Prosthodontics like Fabrication of Complete Dentures, Removable Partial Dentures, Cast Partial Dentures, Fixed Partial Dentures, Maxillo-facial prostheses & Implants.
- The department is running a PG Programme with a three-student intake. It is a three year regular course. It involves pre- clinical exercises, clinical exercises clinical activities, seminars, lectures, journal clubs and case discussions.

Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics
Dr. Vishal Agarwal
Professor & Head- Conservative dentistry is one of the cornerstones of modern dentistry. Earlier , the trend was to randomly extract the teeth but now the aim is to treat, repair and conserve as many teeth as possible , as opposed to extracting them.
- The department is equipped with the latest equipments like Radiovisiography (RVG), Magnifying loops, Endo motors, Apex locators, Injectable Gutta percha machine and Bleaching light. The department is also having a fully equipped lab with an induction casting machine and ceramic furnace.
- The department caters to treatment modalities like different types of restorations, esthetic make over, treatment of badly decayed tooth, perio-endo surgery, Root Canal Treatment and Bleaching.
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery

Professor & Head- The field of oral surgery has undergone a vast change over the last few years, encompassing a broad spectrum of maxillofacial surgical procedures.
- The department has all the latest equipment used in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery including a full fledged Operation Theatre with modern facilities. Moreover it is attached to the 1100 bedded Nims Medical College and Teaching Hospital.

- The department of Periondontology is equipped with the latest Ultra sonic scalers, electro cautery and all surgical instrument.
- The Treatment Modalities provided by well-qualified faculty members include : Scaling, Root planing, Curettage, Gingivoplasty, Gingivectomy, Endo-perio lesions, Implants, Flap surgery, Mucogingival surgery, Regenerative Procedures, Splinting.

Department of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry
Dr. Ullal Anand Nayak
Professor & Head- The department of Pedodontics deals with the problems encountered in a child and adolescent including those with special health care needs. It is a niche for tiny toddlers, made cozy & cuddly by including all the latest gadgets and stuffed toys.
- The department follows audio-visual modes of behavior shaping and management. An RVG unit, Intra Oral Camera and a range of latest dental material & equipments along with the facility of Conscious Sedation is available in the department.
- The treatment modalities include Full mouth rehabilitation, space management, pulp therapy, treatment of abnormal oral habits, pediatric cosmetic treatment, Treatment of Malocclusion in pediatric patient, pediatric Oral surgeries and fracture of facial bones.

Professor & Head- Oral Pathology is that specialty of dentistry which deals with the nature, identification and management of oral diseases. In 1st year BDS, the subject of Dental Anatomy and Dental Histology is taught which lays the foundation of all dental subjects.
- Main Objective of the Department is to conduct research, which can be useful to the general public.
- The department is running a PG Programme with a two-student intake. It is a three year regular course. It involves pre- clinical exercises, clinical exercises clinical activities, seminars, lectures, journal clubs and case discussions.
- The department has well trained and dedicated faculty to guide the UG and PG students.
Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology
Dr. O.D. Toshniwal
Professor & Head- Oral cavity is the mirror of general health. Examination of oral cavity is primarily done in the Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology.
- The diagnosis of various oro-dental disorders is done. The necessary investigations like radiograph of the teeth and jaw bones are carried out in this department. Thereafter the treatment planning of these disorders is done.
- Apart from local diseases of teeth and gums, several systemic diseases reflect their presence in oral cavity. After the recognition of these systemic diseases, the patient is referred to the concerned speciality for further treatment.

Professor & Head- Community dentistry is a branch of dentistry, which deals with the multifarious dental needs of the community and the society on the whole. Community dentistry branch is the only branch, which can arduously manage the dental complexities.
- It is a third year dental subject which teaches about epidemiology both general and in conception with dentistry. It provides knowledge on Biostatistics and its application. It also helps a dental student in realizing the great divide between array of dental diseases and availability for their treatment.
